Any user of EZLease needs read permission (db_datareader role) to the account number groups database, which is named EZ_ANGroup. This can be set in SSMS or in EZLease by the owner of the groups database (see Authorizing Users earlier in this chapter). If you have connections to two or more SQL Server instances, you can use one for the account number groups and another for lease databases. EZLease maintains separate login information for the account number groups database.
By default, the first time you run EZLease, you are connected to the account number groups database on the server you first login to. You may then change the server for groups by selecting the File menu, System Options, then click on Account numbering. Select a server by either typing its name into the Group Database Location box or by clicking on Browse and selecting the appropriate server from the list. Either way, enter the proper login information when prompted.
The login information for the account number groups database is stored separately from the information for lease databases; you may use the groups database on one server and a lease database on a different server, and when you switch servers for one type, EZLease does not switch the logged-in server for the other type.
If you have ownership permissions for the database, the button Set SQL Permissions is enabled. Click on this to get a list of the users authorized to use the groups database, and whether they have read-only access or read and write permissions. You may make changes as you wish. See Permissions for details on how to use this module.
