Multicompany is an extra-cost option, intended for accounting and consulting firms who want to use EZLease to provide services for multiple client firms. It allows you to set up separate System Options settings for each company. All information stored in System Options (including user-defined field selection lists and account number groups) are specific to each company, though you can copy from one to another. Each database created is assigned to a specific company. (See Change Company below to change the assignment.) When you create a new database, it is automatically assigned the current company.
If you are using the Multicompany option, the password for System Options is disabled; see Users below for information on who may make changes to a company’s options.
The Options Store Location box in the Text tab is also disabled, because all options settings are now stored in the account numbers groups database (selected in the Account Numbering window).
If you are using SQL Server, only users with the db_datawriter role for EZ_ANGroup may add or change companies.
Company Name
Select from this dropdown box to change the company you are working with. If you have a database open that belongs to another company, it will be closed as soon as you exit System Options.
Users
The user who creates a new company (using Add Company, below) is always permitted to make changes to the System Options for that company. However, no other user can make changes unless his name is added to this list of authorized users (by the company creator or another person previously authorized).
Enter the desired user’s login name (the same as is displayed on the Descriptive tab for Last Update if you edit a lease record). If you are using SQL Server, you may assign users to the Power user role in SQL Server Management Studio; such a user may make changes to any company.
Company Information
When you select a company, the client ID (if any), username of its creator, its creation date, last access date (i.e., most recent date a database for this company was opened), and last database used are displayed.
Client ID
Double-click on the Client ID box to display a selection list of all companies with IDs, from which you may select a company to display. The company name list automatically changes to match the ID selected. Press Enter or Escape to exit the selection list.
